The Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka shortly known as COMEDK conducts a state level entrance exam called as COMEDK UGET (Undergraduate Entrance Test) for aspirants who are interested in medical and engineering courses by various institutes and colleges which are affiliated to COMEDK.

OVERVIEW
- The exam is conducted mostly in the month of May every year, across numerous cities in India for admission to various undergraduate programmes.
- There are around 12 medical colleges, 25 dental colleges and 150 engineering colleges in the state of Karnataka.
- The duration of the engineering course through COMEDK exam is 4 years and 4 and a half years for MBBS course.
- The duration of BDS and BArch is four years and five years respectively.
- Aspirants must note that there is no entrance exam for BArch courses and the admission process is based on NATA and similarly, the admission process for MBBS courses is based on NEET exam.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ENGINEERING COURSES
Candidates are eligible to apply for COMEDK UGET if they fulfil the following eligibility criteria:
- The qualifying examinations prescribed for admission for B.E. is second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government; the last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with English as a compulsory subject.
- The General Merit candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) and should have passed these subjects individually.
- Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Bio-Technology or Biology or any other technical vocational courses as one of the optional subjects.
- However, changes, if any, in the eligibility criteria by the AICTE will be adopted.
- Diploma candidates are not eligible to take the Entrance Test as there are no lateral entry admissions.
An attempt in the COMEDK Entrance Test seeking admission to Engineering courses is considered adequate for figuring in the rank list.

COMEDK EXAM TIMING
- COMEDK Exam is an online computer based examination.
- The exam is conducted only in English medium.
- Only objective based questions (MCQs) are asked in the exam.
- COMEDK UGET is mostly held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
- Candidates must report 2 hours before the examination.
- The examination center is opened 60 minutes before the examination.
- Candidates failing to report the exam center before 9:30 a.m. are not allowed to sit for the examination.
