MHT CET 2019 Exam Details

MHT CET (MHCET) is conducted by Government of Maharashtra, State Common Entrance Test Cell for admission to first year of full-time degree courses of Health Sciences and Technical Education (Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy) in the state of Maharashtra.

  •  MHT CET 2019 is scheduled for May 2 to May 13,  2019. 
  • MHT CET Application form is now available at dtemahrashtra.gov.in.
  • Application fee for general category is INR 800 while that for reserved category is INR 600.

The state government of Maharashtra has announced to conduct MHT CET 2019 in online mode (Computer Based Test) for the first time in 2019

MHT CET 2019 Eligibility

The basic eligibility for MHT CET is that candidates must have passed class 12th from a recognized board or equivalent. The separate eligibility conditions for all the courses have been given below:

For Engineering Courses

  • Candidates should be an Indian National.
  • Candidates must have passed class 12th exam or HSC examination with subjects namely, Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics/ Biotechnology/ Biology/Technical Vocational subject.
  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% aggregate marks for reserved category candidates) must be obtained.
  • Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of reserved category)
  • Obtained qualifying marks in JEE Main Paper 1 (All India Candidature Candidates, Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidates)

For Pharmacy courses

  • Candidate should be an Indian National.
  • Applicant must have completed class 12th with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology /Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject. For candidates of general category, the minimum percentage criterion is 45% and for reserved category, it is 40%.
  • There is no age limit applicable to this course.

*A relaxation of 5% in qualifying marks will be given to OBC/ SC/ ST/ PWD candidates of Maharashtra

  • For Engineering/ Technology, the candidates with a valid score in JEE Main 2019 will be exempted from appearing in the MHT CET 2019.

How to Apply

Here, we have given the steps to complete the MH CET online application 2019 form process.

  • Visit the official website (link will be given above).
  • Click on ‘New User Registration’.
  • Fill valid email Id and mobile number.
  • Now, click o ‘Apply Now’ button.
  • Fill the details such as personal, contact, category, gender, date of birth, educational etc.
  • After that click on “Upload Photo & Signature” button.
  • Upload scanned photo (file should be between 15 KB to 50 KB) and signature (file should be between 5 KB to 50 KB) in .JPEG format.
  • Click on “Click here to upload images’ button to upload the images.
  • Choose the file and click on ‘Upload’ button.
  • Now, click on ‘Continue’ button to process further.
  • Now make payment on clicking the ‘Pay Now’ tab.
  • Choose the payment option and pay the requisite fee.
  • After successful payment click on the “Generate MHT CET 2019 Registration Confirmation Page” link.
  • Take the printout and keep it with you for further use.

MHT-CET 2019 Exam Pattern

  • For 2019 session, MHT-CET is going to be held in online (computer- based) mode. Earlier till 2018, MHT-CET was conducted in offline mode (pen-paper mode), however, now the entrance examination will be conducted in online mode.
  • The test consists of three question papers – Paper 1 is Mathematics, Paper 2 is Physics and Chemistry and Paper 3 is Biology (Zoology and Botany).
  • The medium of language for MHT-CET is English or Hindi or Marathi for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. However, Mathematics paper is in English only.
  • There will be 150 questions in the exam that candidates need to attempt.
  • The total time duration for MHT-CET is 3 hours.

Note:

  • For candidates seeking admission in Engineering courses, it is compulsory to appear for both Paper I and Paper II.
  • For candidates seeking admission in Pharmacy courses, it is compulsory to appear for Paper II and Paper-I or Paper-III.

All the qualified candidates will have to carry the below-mentioned documents/certificates in original and their photocopy to the MHT-CET counselling venue.

  • Click on the admit card download link, and to log in, enter MHT CET 2019 application number, password, and the security key.
  • A PDF format of MHT CET 2019 admit card will appear on the screen.
  • Check all the details and take a print out of the admit card.

2. What are the chances of 2019 MHT CET getting cancelled?

While no official announcement has been made yet, there are reports that the panel for MHTCET has asked for cancellation of MHTCET exam due to the Lok Sabha elections. The panel feels that the elections may lead to shortage of staff and it might be difficult for them to conduct the exam smoothly. In addition, the MHT CET panel also feels that since JEE will be conducted twice from 2019, students will have to face extra burden of appearing for more exams.

MHT CET 2019 admit card is released by the Directorate of Technical Education, (DTE) Maharashtra.
